Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for application and reporting databases to support documentation, application development, and data integration.
  • Monitor the execution and performance of daily data pipelines and triage or escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and pipelines that feed business intelligence tools.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensure production data is accurate and available for stakeholders and business processes.
  • Write unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and document work clearly.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in resolving them.
  • Work within AWS and Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Share knowledge and provide visibility into accomplishments while working as part of the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development with tools such as SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or similar.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS.
  • Experience with one or more data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Knowledge of best practices for always-on, always-available service operations.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies or knowledge of Agile practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, written communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI is preferred.
  • Broad experience with multiple RDBMS such as MS SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SaaS and cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design concepts including star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL/DDL queries and tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • Familiarity with web services including XML, REST, and SOAP.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
