Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for core application and reporting databases.
  • Monitor daily pipeline execution and performance, triage issues, and escalate problems when needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and data pipelines for business intelligence tools.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensure production data remains accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and document work.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and support resolution efforts.
  • Work within AWS and Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Work closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and provide visibility into accomplishments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data pipeline development experience with SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or similar tools.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS.
  • Experience with one or more data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in always-up, always-available services.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Knowledge of business analytics, including basic metric building and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of integration architecture, including application integration, data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings, and data dictionary reports.
  • Familiarity with web services such as XML, REST, and SOAP.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or Power BI is preferred.
  • Broad experience with multiple RDBMS such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SaaS/cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse design, including star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL/DDL querying and tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
