Description

  • Own and evolve foundational Android infrastructure, including modularization, dependency injection, navigation, deep linking, and app lifecycle systems.
  • Design and deliver shared libraries and frameworks that product teams use daily.
  • Drive Android architecture decisions that have long-term, high-leverage impact across the organization.
  • Build and steward experimentation capabilities that support rapid iteration.
  • Improve observability and performance tooling for engineers and on-call responders.
  • Partner with iOS, Web, and backend engineers to deliver consistent cross-platform experiences.
  • Identify and lead adoption of AI tools and practices that improve platform and product engineering workflows.
  • Build AI-powered capabilities into the platform where they create durable value for product teams.
  • Lead architecture and design reviews across teams and help set scalable standards.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across Cash App’s Android organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Android development experience with demonstrated organizational impact.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to identify non-obvious problems and simple solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including writing clear design docs and leading productive design reviews.
  • Deep Android expertise, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, modern architecture patterns, build systems, performance profiling, and testing at scale.
  • Active use of AI-assisted development tools and a strong point of view on where AI adds value and where it does not.
  • Platform or infrastructure builder’s mindset with a focus on developer experience.
  • Experience building developer platforms, shared libraries, or internal tooling used across large engineering organizations (preferred).
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, fintech, financial services, or regulated environments, or mobile experimentation infrastructure such as feature flags or A/B testing at scale (preferred).
