Description

  • Define and execute a global strategy for referral and growth partnerships aligned with Square’s go-to-market and seller acquisition priorities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure high-impact partners across technology platforms, service providers, marketplaces, referral networks, and SaaS companies.
  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including revenue share, referral fees, co-investment arrangements, and milestone-based incentives.
  • Lead executive-level negotiations and close deals that accelerate growth.
  • Map partner ecosystems to uncover growth channels and deliver measurable results in lead generation, seller acquisition, and pipeline contribution.
  • Design creative partnership models that create differentiated value for both Square and partner customers.
  • Launch new partnerships and scale existing ones with clear GTM plans, co-marketing initiatives, and integrated roadmaps where relevant.
  • Build and maintain C-level relationships with partners to support long-term value creation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Legal to ensure effective execution.
  • Define KPIs for partnership success, monitor performance, and optimize strategy to drive continuous growth.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of partnership managers across key global markets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or growth leadership.
  • 7+ years of experience in senior or team lead roles.
  • Experience working with or inside large financial services, consumer platform, retail, SMB, business services, marketplace, or healthcare businesses.
  • Working understanding of partner distribution mechanics and internal incentives.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and negotiating complex commercial deals and co-marketing commitments.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with extensive executive-level experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect partnership strategy to measurable seller acquisition and revenue outcomes.
  • Ability to structure partnership economics, evaluate business cases, and use data to prioritize and optimize a portfolio.
  • Experience building and leading global teams.
  • SaaS, fintech, or payments background strongly preferred.
