Description

  • Prototype, implement, and iterate on gameplay content including game flow, interactable objects, player abilities, scripted sequences, tutorial systems, and bug fixes.
  • Create event hooks for narrative and audio content.
  • Collaborate with artists and designers to improve gameplay content implementation and achieve the best possible result.
  • Work with engineers to improve design workflows and translate gameplay intentions within performance and technical constraints.
  • Partner with producers and team leadership to assess requirements and provide effort estimates and status updates.
  • Support the development and execution of gameplay features and tools for a new project.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in game development, including at least 2 years of technical design experience.
  • Confidence and familiarity with modern text-based scripting languages.
  • Experience shipping at least one product, ideally an exploration and/or horror game.
  • Self-directed and able to thrive in a highly dynamic, technical environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience developing or playing games with a cooperative gameplay focus (preferred).
  • Passion for creating new, original gameplay experiences (preferred).
  • Interest in high-quality gameplay experiences and modern horror exploration games (preferred).
  • Demonstrated passion for entertainment products and media such as comics, movies, or novels (preferred).
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside in Canada.
