Description

  • Take game concepts and design specifications and build them into fully working games on a Java code base.
  • Own the server-side game logic from first commit through release.
  • Implement core game mechanics, reel logic, feature triggers, and bonus flows.
  • Prepare game mechanics for balancing with Game Mathematicians.
  • Coordinate the work needed to take each game from concept to a released, client-ready title.
  • Handle setup and administrative work needed for client integration, including configuration, metadata, and client-facing interfaces.
  • Collaborate with Client Developers, Designers, QA Engineers, and Producers to align implementation with the client, artwork, and player experience.
  • Integrate with the backend platform and manage game state, rounds, and transactions securely and reliably.
  • Diagnose and resolve logic, behavioural, and integration issues during development, QA, and production.
  • Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to refactoring, technical debt reduction, and platform improvements.

Requirements

  • Strong grounding in software development and back-end engineering, gained through iGaming, video games, or another domain.
  • Strong Java skills with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software architecture.
  • Ability to design and structure game logic in a clean, maintainable, configurable way.
  • Commitment to code quality, maintainability, and ongoing refactoring of evolving code bases.
  • Good mathematical and logical reasoning to implement game mechanics accurately and work with mathematicians on balancing.
  • Proficiency with software design patterns and their application to game or systems development.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to own a project end-to-end.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Proficiency with Git, distributed version control, and branching strategies.
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Familiarity with Jira or ClickUp.
  • Understanding of slot mechanics and iGaming regulatory considerations (nice to have).
