Description

  • Manage the general ledger and prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor payments, and payroll for employees and contractors.
  • Lead corporate tax compliance, including GST/HST, IDMTC, SR&ED, and related filings.
  • Support external audits and government reporting requirements.
  • Track cash flow, foreign exchange activity, and treasury operations to maintain liquidity and risk control.
  • Maintain standardized finance templates and systems for GL entries, vendor tracking, payroll, and invoicing.
  • Oversee revenue recognition and milestone billing for co-development and partnership contracts.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Continuously improve finance processes to increase scalability, accuracy, and control.

Requirements

  • CPA designation or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
  • Experience in a project-based or creative production environment is ideal.
  • External audit experience is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience managing compliance programs, tax filings, and financial audits.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and financial systems such as ERP tools, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.
  • Strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach to data integrity and process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work with producers, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Background in gaming, media, entertainment, or creative production is preferred.
  • Experience improving systems and workflows in scaling organizations is a plus.
  • Experience supporting executive- or board-level reporting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with milestone-based revenue models and co-development structures is a plus.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside within Canada.
