Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Accounts Payable professionals.
  • Set clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for the AP team.
  • Manage team capacity, workload prioritization, and ongoing skill development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and payment execution in line with policies and SLAs.
  • Manage payment runs and ensure required approvals and authorizations are followed.
  • Monitor AP aging, identify bottlenecks, and resolve outstanding items.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders and resolve inquiries, disputes, and payment issues.
  • Own AP process requirements and partner with Finance Systems and IT to improve workflows in Coupa and NetSuite.
  • Drive adoption of electronic payments, supplier portals, and vendor onboarding improvements.
  • Oversee fraud prevention controls, SOX compliance, audits, remediation, reporting, and AP close activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, P2P workflows, and accounting principles.
  • Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite and AP automation tools such as Coupa.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in a high-growth or transforming organization.
  • Track record of implementing process improvements or system enhancements.
  • Experience leading remote or distributed teams.
  • Must be based in Chicago, Illinois or Milwaukee, Wisconsin preferred.
  • Remote: US only role (#LI-Remote).

  • Competitive base salary of $131,000 to $170,000 USD.
