Description

  • Lead the full biosignal-based algorithm development lifecycle for medical devices, from requirements gathering through production maintenance and documentation.
  • Curate and label data used for algorithm development and validation.
  • Select and implement the most appropriate modeling approach for each problem, including deep learning and non-deep-learning methods.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain internal machine learning and deep learning tools and codebases to support rapid experimentation and reuse.
  • Introduce new model architectures and algorithmic techniques to improve team efficiency and model performance.
  • Apply software and ML best practices, including testing, documentation, CI, non-regression testing, version control, code reviews, Dockerization, and experiment tracking.
  • Present technical results to stakeholders and support client engagement using Beacon’s algorithms.
  • Support client-facing projects by shaping how existing and future algorithms impact customers.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, neuroscientists, engineers, and clinicians on scoping, building, deploying, and maintaining models.
  • Participate in formal validation, quality/regulatory documentation, and production deployment of algorithms.

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, especially in health sciences or regulated fields.
  • Proven track record of bringing algorithms into production.
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics.
  • Proficiency with PyTorch, or another deep learning framework for training, developing, and deploying models.
  • Familiarity with recent deep learning advances such as Transformers, ViTs, and large-scale model training.
  • Strong software and ML engineering practices, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Docker, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.
  • Experience with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets, or strong enthusiasm to learn the domain.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort working through the entire algorithm development lifecycle, including scoping, data wrangling, experimentation, validation, regulatory documentation, deployment, and client support.
