Description

  • Lead end-to-end revenue accounting operations, including invoice and order approvals, credit approvals, revenue memos, and audit support.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP across subscription, consumption-based, and other revenue streams.
  • Own, update, and enforce global revenue recognition policies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors on revenue, deferred revenue, and standalone selling price analyses.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including ledger entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
  • Prepare revenue variance analyses, executive dashboards, and financial statement disclosures for leadership and board presentations.
  • Partner with FP&A to support revenue and deferred revenue forecasting.
  • Design and maintain scalable revenue processes and internal controls to support growth and operational efficiency.
  • Lead implementation and optimization of revenue automation tools and systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain SOX controls over order-to-cash and revenue recognition cycles.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, and Sales Operations on contract reviews to assess accounting treatment and revenue impact.
  • Review sales commission plans, evaluate accounting implications under ASC 340-40, and manage the monthly commission cycle.
  • Manage commission capitalization and amortization schedules aligned to customer contract terms.
  • Mentor and manage revenue accounting staff and support their development goals.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Public accounting experience is required; Big 4 experience is strongly preferred.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition for SaaS and consumption-based business models.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with ERP, billing, and revenue operations platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, SPIFF, Snowflake, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with system integration projects such as ERP-to-billing data flows, commission platform configuration, or CRM-to-revenue system connections is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, and practical SQL experience are highly valued.
  • Experience automating billing-to-cash and revenue recognition processes using existing tools and emerging AI-enabled solutions is mentioned as relevant.
