Description

  • Own the technical win by driving pre-sales engagements from discovery through solution validation.
  • Lead hands-on pilots and proofs of concept in customer environments, including installation, configuration, and execution.
  • Benchmark, profile, and tune JVM-based applications to prove latency, throughput, GC, and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze GC and JIT logs and interpret runtime behavior to quantify performance outcomes.
  • Navigate complex enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, SLAs, security reviews, and procurement processes.
  • Deliver presentations and demos to audiences ranging from CxOs to developers.
  • Respond to RFI and RFP requirements by aligning Azul capabilities to technical and business needs.
  • Coordinate with Product Management, Engineering, and the CTO office to remove technical blockers.
  • Partner with Account Executives on territory planning, pipeline generation, account growth, and partner enablement.
  • Mentor other Sales Engineers and onboard new team members through training and pilot support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering or pre-sales role supporting enterprise software, ideally in Java, middleware, performance, or infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Java development or testing experience with a strong command of Java architecture.
  • Proven experience leading hands-on pilots, proofs of concept, and performance-focused customer engagements.
  • Experience selling into large enterprises with complex, multi-stakeholder, mission-critical production environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related IT discipline; a master’s or higher is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and container technologies such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Solid knowledge of sales processes and CRM tools, with MEDDICC and Salesforce preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Fluency in the territory’s primary language and strong professional English.
  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
