Description

  • Drive high-quality project work for state Medicaid agencies and other clients focused on Medicaid policy and programs.
  • Lead and manage multiple complex projects end to end, including strategy, scope, budget, staffing, and team execution.
  • Apply Medicaid policy and operational expertise to work on market intelligence, authorities, delivery systems, payment and financing strategies, and program implementation.
  • Lead policy research to assess federal and state program environments, evaluate policy impacts, and develop recommendations for design and implementation.
  • Create client-ready deliverables such as PowerPoint presentations, memos, reports, and policy briefs.
  • Identify new project ideas and opportunities to add value to current engagements.
  • Manage and mentor staff and project teams, including feedback, quality control, and professional development.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through publications, presentations, data analysis synthesis, and commentary on policy and market trends.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and build relationships with executive leaders across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree preferred in public policy, public health, public administration, business, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Medicaid programs or consulting for Medicaid programs.
  • Management experience at a consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to synthesize state and federal Medicaid requirements, qualitative and quantitative research, and program assessment findings into recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead teams, design and execute projects, and mentor junior staff.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience engaging directly with clients and state leaders, including presenting findings and facilitating discussions.
  • Demonstrated Medicaid subject matter expertise, including payment and delivery system reform, federal state plan and waiver authorities, managed care contracts and procurements, Medicaid financing approaches, LTSS/HCBS, behavioral health, and program implementation.
  • High initiative, professional maturity, and a strong sense of ownership.
