Description

  • Serve as the primary interface between business, engineering, and production functions.
  • Oversee the introduction of multiple new hardware products into production.
  • Lead the ramp-up of engineering and production resources to expand output by an order of magnitude within one year.
  • Coordinate engineering teams on production needs, including drawing releases and part modifications.
  • Triage production and engineering resources against customer opportunities and business commitments.
  • Partner with design, sustainment, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams on drawing releases, part procurement, and capacity planning.
  • Identify gaps and risks in production readiness and implement solutions.
  • Help shape processes for releasing and managing products in production.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in hardware design and production.
  • Experience overseeing the transition of multiple complex hardware products from prototype to production.
  • Experience as a partner to, and leader of, hardware engineering teams.
  • Experience working with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, sourcing, and planning teams.
  • Successful track record in scaling environments with significant change and ambiguity.
  • Deep knowledge of production processes and controls, including inventory tracking, BOM management, sourcing strategies, and quality management tools.
  • Business acumen and ability to use financial metrics to guide critical decisions independently.
  • Degree in engineering or a similar technical or quantitative field.
  • Experience with details of engineering and production processes and strong interest in hands-on operational work.
