Description

Serve as the primary liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and global customs authorities.
Oversee import brokerage operations, including HTS classification, customs entry, valuation, country of origin, and admissibility reviews.
Manage Power of Attorney relationships with customs brokers and standardize SOPs across regions.
Ensure compliance with defense-specific import and export regulations, including ITAR, EAR, DFARS, and CTPAT.
Develop and maintain the global import governance program, including policies, audit protocols, and internal training.
Lead trade lane risk assessments and duty mitigation strategies such as free trade agreement utilization, duty drawback, and tariff engineering.
Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership on their business impact.
Manage global customs brokerage vendors and assess performance against SLAs and compliance requirements.
Partner with Supply Chain, Trade Compliance, Legal, Engineering, Finance, and Program teams to align import compliance with operational goals.
Report import KPIs, trade risks, and savings initiatives to senior leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
8–12+ years of experience in global trade compliance, import operations, or customs brokerage management.
Strong knowledge of U.S. and global customs regimes.
Strong working knowledge of Incoterms, tariff mitigation strategies, and bonded warehouse/FTZ programs.
Proven experience managing global brokerage networks and 3PL/4PL partnerships.
Excellent leadership, vendor management, communication, negotiation, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage day-to-day operations and long-term strategy while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
Licensed U.S. Customs Broker strongly preferred.
Experience in defense, aerospace, or high-technology manufacturing environments is a plus.
Experience in manufacturing supply chains is a plus.
Six Sigma certification or Lean training preferred.

US salary range: $166,000 to $220,000 USD.
