Description

  • Drive product improvement through data collection, incident reporting, and support for design reviews, process development, verification, validation, and qualification activities.
  • Resolve development ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance that affect quality and reliability goals.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action activities for field and reliability issues and share lessons learned across the product team.
  • Champion the transition from new product introduction to a sustainable and predictable product experience for customers.
  • Own efforts to reduce product risk and improve reliability across the product lifecycle, from concept through manufacturing and field use.
  • Ensure product and process requirements are executed, defined, and continuously improved.
  • Work cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap.
  • Lead product health data analysis, establish quality metrics, and identify factors that predict quality performance.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, including required documentation and activities.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and product quality plans for component categories such as castings, forgings, machined parts, and electromechanical systems.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership across design, manufacturing, quality, and reliability engineering to evaluate process capability and inform design decisions with data.
  • Lead and conduct design of experiments (DOE) to support design and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality in aerospace/defense or similar complex hardware environments, including Edge Compute, Communications, or electronics products.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring, guiding, or leading a team of engineers, with 3-5 PQEs preferred.
  • Proven experience leading RCCA efforts for complex issues using tools such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma, Fault Tree Analysis, and DMAIC.
  • Strong working knowledge of design review and quality management for PCBA, harnessing, machined and sheet metal components, and weldment structures.
  • Strong working knowledge of FMEA, V&V testing, APQP, and PPAP elements including MSA and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
  • A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated ability to drive projects and teams to completion.
  • Analytical skills and experience with data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools such as MATLAB, JMP, or Minitab.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment on quality standards.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
  • Master's degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience developing quality systems for low-volume, highly complex manufacturing environments and suppliers is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with IPC standards is preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
  • Experience with government contracts and military standards or other regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Jira, Foundry, Oracle, or Odoo is preferred.
