Description

  • Execute comprehensive test plans using benchtop test equipment to verify PCB and electronic system performance.
  • Perform precision PCB rework and assembly, including SMT and through-hole soldering, component replacement, jumper wire installation, conformal coating, and staking.
  • Build, assemble, and modify complex cable and wire harness assemblies according to schematics and build documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose failures in electronic assemblies down to the component level and perform repairs.
  • Accurately document test data, rework actions, assembly details, and failure modes to support engineering analysis.
  • Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and assist with equipment calibration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, assembly, and rework in an R&D or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and technical datasheets.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering to IPC J-STD-001 or equivalent standards.
  • Experience with PCB rework, component replacement, and modification.
  • Proven experience building and modifying complex cable and wire harness assemblies to IPC-620 or equivalent standards.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing electronic failures to the component level using standard test equipment and documentation.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and stay self-organized in an electronics lab/test environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Technologies, or a related field is preferred.
  • Active IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 certifications are preferred.
  • Experience using ECAD viewers such as Altium, Eagle, or OrCAD to locate components on a board layout is preferred.
  • Familiarity with thermal chambers, vibration tables, and burn-in procedures is preferred.
