Description

  • Work with development, construction, and energy teams to implement electrical hardware and utility partner requirements.
  • Partner with the technology team to determine hardware vendors for charging sites.
  • Execute interoperability strategies across EVSE partners and the vehicles using Terawatt’s charging infrastructure.
  • Support field service teams in resolving hardware and electrical issues for fleet customers.
  • Participate in standards engagements and compliance activities.
  • Help identify new solutions to improve site efficiency.
  • Manage engineering deliverables for multiple projects with competing deadlines and limited resources.
  • Report engineering progress, risks, and setbacks to management.
  • Research and apply building codes and electrical code requirements to site design.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, data, development, construction, energy, and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Background in electrical engineering, power electronics, or comparable practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in dense electrical infrastructure, such as DC fast EV charging, clean energy electrification, data center power distribution, grid development, substations, microgrids, or solid-state power transformation.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a collaborative approach to solving complex technical challenges in a fast-moving industry.
  • Ability to manage technical deliverables across multiple simultaneous projects under aggressive speed-to-market timelines.
  • Proficiency in developing and reviewing single-line diagrams and three-line diagrams using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software.
  • Deep familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes relevant to EV infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience managing utility interconnection applications and working through utility service provider requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience in the EV ecosystem, vehicle electrification, EV charging infrastructure, or related fields preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in construction oversight, commissioning, or field engineering preferred, especially troubleshooting hardware-to-vehicle interoperability.
  • Familiarity with dispatchable on-site power generation, solid-state transformers, substation relay and control, and related power distribution systems preferred.
  • Understanding of industry standards such as OCPP and ISO 15118 preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction and electrical safety practices and procedures preferred.
  • EIT status or a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
