Description

  • Own the technical vision and execution strategy for integrated test capabilities supporting Archer's eVTOL certification program within lab infrastructure.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small electrical engineering team and technicians, building a strong technical culture and growth paths.
  • Serve as the primary electrical engineering point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders across systems, software, and operations.
  • Gather requirements for new test assets, plan execution, and keep stakeholders informed throughout the process.
  • Establish and continuously improve electrical design standards, instrumentation frameworks, and lab safety protocols.
  • Own general electrical engineering lab architecture for critical test capabilities, including capacity planning and make/buy decisions.
  • Partner with integrated test lab leadership to shape broader lab infrastructure strategy.
  • Identify gaps in tooling, automation, and workflows to improve throughput and quality.
  • Stay hands-on with wiring diagrams, troubleshooting, and test rig support.

Requirements

  • 6–12 years of aerospace electrical engineering experience, specifically in test infrastructure or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Deep understanding of complex integrated subsystems architectures, high-voltage/high-power systems, or electric propulsion testing.
  • High proficiency in creating wiring diagrams and using schematic design tools such as Siemens Capital.
  • Experience with serial communication bus protocols such as CanBUS, ARINC, and RS-232/485.
  • Exposure to agile, configuration management, or test data traceability tools such as JIRA or Polarion.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading small technical teams of engineers and technicians.
  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen with the ability to balance technical excellence, cost, schedule, supplier ecosystems, and team capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting status and technical findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A strong sense of personal ownership and a process-improvement mindset.
  • Experience with FAA aircraft certification or a commercial aviation airplane program (bonus).
  • Familiarity with integrated lab or HIL test setups in an aviation or eVTOL context (bonus).
  • Direct experience with eVTOL or novel aircraft electrical certification (bonus).
  • Track record of technical innovations in electrical test methodology (bonus).
  • Interest in transitioning into people and project management responsibilities (bonus).

  • Base pay target of $150,000–$190,000.
