Description

  • Lead technical execution from initial vision and design through fabrication, testing, and production of ruggedized hardware systems and platforms.
  • Develop platforms and subsystems that support expeditionary operation, intuitive setup and use, and modular sensor expansion.
  • Set up technical trade studies to explore early designs in collaboration with subject matter experts and business development.
  • Oversee development teams to identify solutions for current and future capability gaps.
  • Define product milestones, lead technical design reviews, guide cross-functional product decisions, and manage engineering risk.
  • Coordinate prototype fabrication and low-rate production builds, as well as subsystem and system-level testing.
  • Conduct hands-on in-field testing and remote troubleshooting of deployed systems.
  • Create and execute verification and validation plans for the end-to-end system.
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineering, program management, and growth teams to move concepts toward production-ready designs.
  • Own sustainment, consolidation, and future improvements of core tower systems including communications, power, structures, and sensors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Senior-level experience leading system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customers.
  • Experience with data analysis, rapid prototyping, and early-stage customer deployments.
  • Familiarity with mechatronic design, firmware and software system design, sensor physics, tracking and calibration, and data-backed decision making.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through design trades while meeting program deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel as required for test planning and execution.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Self-starter with high ownership and a mission-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to make educated decisions and perform engineering tradeoffs in the absence of clear customer requirements.
