Description

  • Administer and maintain Altium Enterprise Server infrastructure to ensure performance and availability.
  • Configure user access rights, permissions, and role-based security protocols.
  • Manage server backups, disaster recovery procedures, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize the central component library database and standards.
  • Audit components and review new component requests for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Manage component lifecycle tracking, including obsolescence and alternate part recommendations.
  • Design and maintain database structures, integrations, synchronization processes, queries, and reports.
  • Establish and maintain CAD and database connections across multiple electrical design tools and external systems.
  • Build and maintain API integrations, automation scripts, and translation workflows for library conversion and export.
  • Create documentation, training materials, and user support for library processes and cross-platform workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years working with Altium Designer and 3+ years with Altium Enterprise Server or similar vault/PDM systems.
  • Experience working with multiple electrical CAD platforms and their library structures.
  • Deep understanding of relational database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Proven experience with database links, ODBC/JDBC connections, and data synchronization.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic component library structures, including symbols, footprints, and parametric data.
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with REST APIs, web services, and data interchange formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Server administration experience in Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Understanding of PLM/ERP integrations, IPC standards, PCB design best practices, version control concepts, ETL processes, and CAD data formats such as SchLib, PcbLib, STEP, and IPC-2581.
  • Familiarity with component databases and aggregator APIs such as Digi-Key, Mouser, Octopart, and SiliconExpert.
  • Experience with middleware or integration platforms is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Electronics industry experience, component supplier database experience, PLM system experience, or previous librarian/data management experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements such as RoHS, REACH, and conflict minerals is preferred.
  • Experience with neutral CAD data formats such as IPC-2581 or ODB++ is preferred.
  • Certification in database administration or server management is preferred.
  • Scripting capability with PowerShell, Python, or similar tools for automation and data transformation is preferred.
