Description

  • Support month-end close activities, including cost validation, accrual analysis, and variance review.
  • Perform cost reclassifications so expenses are charged to the correct contract, work package, and cost element.
  • Review and correct timecard allocations with program managers and employees.
  • Conduct data analysis and reconciliations across financial systems to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain contract budget baselines by updating work breakdown structures and tracking changes.
  • Support billing and revenue recognition by reconciling costs to invoices and tracking unbilled accounts receivable.
  • Partner with program managers, engineering leads, and supply chain teams to gather cost estimates and validate actuals.
  • Build recurring financial reports and dashboards in Excel, Anaplan, and Foundry to automate program financial deliverables.
  • Learn and apply Earned Value Management (EVM), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role; internships and co-ops count.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to apply for and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Internship or coursework exposure to government contracting, cost accounting, or aerospace & defense is preferred.
  • Interest in contributing to the aerospace & defense industry is preferred.
  • Exposure to data visualization or business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is preferred.
  • Basic SQL or Python skills for data manipulation are a nice to have.
  • Understanding of manufacturing or engineering cost structures is preferred.
