Description

  • Own test activities in production and maintain production test flow.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrared systems issues discovered during testing.
  • Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system checkout and acceptance testing to component-level validation.
  • Create clear test work instructions in MES and train technicians on equipment use as needed.
  • Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides and diagrams.
  • Maintain and develop software for test automation, data analytics, and report generation.
  • Determine root cause of product failures and recommend corrective and corrective action (RCCA).
  • Partner with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and produce detailed reports to identify defects and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and contribute feedback to early-stage test design for NPI products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Experience with data acquisition and processing using MATLAB, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Experience with test automation and report generation.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience working on projects that integrate electrical, opto-mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of infrared systems, including performance requirements and verification methodologies, is preferred.
  • Experience with cryogenic testing equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, thermal chambers, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition, and measurement sensors is preferred.
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN is preferred.
