Description

  • Work on verification and validation of safety-critical platform software components in accordance with DO-178C standards.
  • Design, develop, and document test plans, test cases, and test procedures from high-level and low-level software requirements.
  • Execute Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests for platform software algorithms and low-level drivers.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects in automated tracking systems and collaborate with embedded developers to analyze root causes and verify fixes.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks in C/C++ and Python to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Design and execute tests for software fault detection and diagnostic algorithms, including system faults, component failures, and sensor anomalies.
  • Participate in software audits and reviews to ensure verification activities meet DO-178C certification requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • At least a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree.
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ for code analysis and scripting languages such as Python for test automation.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical software development and verification standards such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, and ASIL at high criticality levels (DAL-A/B or ASIL C/D).
  • Hands-on experience through the full software verification life cycle, including requirement traceability and verification reporting.
  • Experience testing low-level communication protocols such as CAN, RS-422/485, ARINC-429, SPI, I2C, and Ethernet.
  • Working knowledge of a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies used for development, testing, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with hardware debugging and lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Experience using a unit test framework for coverage metrics to support certification objectives (preferred).

  • Base pay targeted between $140,000 and $170,000.
