Description

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current UDMH and data integration landscape.
  • Document undocumented architecture and institutional knowledge to eliminate single points of failure.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts such as data flow diagrams, system dependencies, integration points, and technical documentation.
  • Lead technology evaluations and proof-of-concept efforts for interoperability tools including FHIR servers, interface engines, and AI/ML-driven transformation platforms.
  • Evaluate proprietary versus non-proprietary approaches for UDMH and provide technical and strategic recommendations.
  • Define and communicate a future-state data architecture roadmap for scalability, fault tolerance, and long-term sustainability.
  • Design and implement interoperable data solutions using healthcare standards such as FHIR and HL7.
  • Oversee integration of diverse data sources into a governed data platform supporting clinical and operational use cases.
  • Establish KPIs and monitoring frameworks for system performance, availability, data quality, and resilience.
  • Lead data governance efforts to ensure HIPAA compliance, privacy, security, and data quality.
  • Optimize and automate data integration workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clinical, technical, leadership, security, and IT stakeholders to align data strategy with business goals and patient outcomes.
  • Mentor data engineers, analysts, and developers to distribute knowledge across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture with a strong focus on healthcare data interoperability.
  • Deep expertise with FHIR, HL7, CCDA, and other healthcare data standards.
  • Familiarity with USCDI.
  • Proven success documenting and transitioning legacy systems where key knowledge was concentrated in a single individual or role.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Experience designing or evolving UDMH or similar healthcare data platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and modern data architectures such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
  • Google BigQuery and Looker knowledge preferred.
  • Google Cloud Healthcare API and/or Aidbox CDR knowledge a plus.

  • Base salary range of $158,580 to $165,000, with potential annual bonus and possible long-term or short-term incentive compensation.
