Description

  • Design and steward the central Data Governance strategy for 2026–2028, including priorities, horizons, and evolution criteria for national and international contexts.
  • Review, simplify, and approve data policies covering access, quality, privacy, classification, retention, and cost efficiency, ensuring LGPD and GDPR compliance in cloud environments.
  • Translate governance guidelines into executable controls and coordinate with technical data teams on policy-as-code implementation.
  • Design and maintain RACI matrices by domain and critical data, including specific guidelines for sensitive data such as PII and PCI.
  • Act as a trusted advisor during the migration of the data platform to Google Cloud Platform, applying native governance best practices across BigQuery, Dataplex/Data Catalog, IAM, and DLP.
  • Align governance requirements with the practical GCP architecture so access, quality, and privacy controls are built into solution design.
  • Operate the Data Stewardship program, including selection, onboarding, rituals, calendars, playbooks, and adoption metrics.
  • Lead governance forums such as the Data Council and DQ Review Board, including agenda setting, facilitation, decision tracking, and follow-up.
  • Own the Business Glossary and Data Literacy initiatives, promoting semantic alignment across domains and recognition for governance adoption.
  • Define the client’s AI Governance framework, including model registry, explainability, automated decision auditing, and incident management.
  • Build annual governance business cases and connect maturity metrics to financial outcomes for executive reviews and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Track industry trends in Data and AI Governance and evolve the Governance Seal roadmap from trusted data to AI-ready and traceable-impact stages.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data platform migration or modernization to GCP, with hands-on work in BigQuery, Dataplex/Data Catalog, IAM, and DLP.
  • Experience across the full data policy lifecycle, including access, quality, privacy, classification, retention, and cost efficiency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of LGPD and GDPR compliance in cloud environments.
  • Strong technical ability to connect governance requirements to practical data architecture and guide delivery teams without directly implementing solutions.
  • Experience with organizational change management, such as ADKAR, and with data literacy programs and executive communication.
  • Ability to build business cases and present to senior leadership.
  • Experience defining roles and responsibilities and designing RACI matrices.
  • Ability to lead communities of practice and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in multinational contexts or governance programs with international scope.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK and DCAM, with contextual decision-making beyond the framework.
  • Preferred experience in AI Governance or Decision Governance, including model explainability, algorithmic auditability, Responsible AI, or similar frameworks.
  • Knowledge of IBM Data Governance Council frameworks or experience with cloud data catalog and data quality tools.
  • Certifications in data management, such as CDMP, or in GCP, such as Professional Data Engineer, are preferred.
  • Prior technical background in software development, data engineering, or solutions architecture is highly valued.
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, digital platforms, or AI-driven product companies is preferred.
  • Advanced English level, minimum C1, for multinational collaboration and technical documentation.
