Description

  • Lead and develop the existing entrepreneurship team through the transition to the new CRA structure.
  • Set new standards for performance, rigor, and output across the Centre’s work.
  • Align team members to new Venture Studio functions and responsibilities.
  • Act as the primary venture architect for the Studio’s inaugural cohort, overseeing validation and MVP development.
  • Direct the development and adoption of the Venture Studio Playbook with standardized venture creation processes.
  • Chair the internal Investment Committee and guide kill, pivot, or scale decisions using market data.
  • Establish the Centre’s research agenda focused on African entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education.
  • Develop frameworks that differentiate ALU’s mission-based entrepreneurship model from global-north approaches.
  • Build partnerships, ecosystem presence, and thought leadership to position C4E as a recognized African venture-building platform.
  • Mobilize capital through investor engagement, fundraising, and the creation of an investor syndicate for student ventures.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience, including proven success leading teams through organizational change.
  • Experience personally building ventures as a founder or GP and managing diverse teams in an institutional or corporate setting.
  • Experience building or refining an accelerator, incubator, or innovation hub.
  • Ability to inspire an internal team and pitch effectively to global VCs and DFIs.
  • Demonstrated track record securing institutional, philanthropic, venture, or innovation capital.
  • Experience building relationships across investor, VC, DFI, accelerator, and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
  • Experience commercialising entrepreneurship, innovation, or venture-building programs through strategic partnerships, ecosystem offerings, executive education, or external venture support models.
