Description

  • Develop brake performance and braking comfort for vehicle applications.
  • Test and refine the interaction between brake and drivetrain actuators.
  • Track metrics and targets for vehicle-level performance.
  • Translate performance needs into requirements for systems and components.
  • Develop and improve testing methodologies to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support simulation development to predict vehicle performance.
  • Implement technical concepts and solutions to optimize brake performance.
  • Execute vehicle validation activities.
  • Lead data analysis, investigate issues, and drive resolution.
  • Monitor fleet performance through dashboards.
  • Lead and report on FMVSS-related testing.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of automotive or related brake development and vehicle testing experience.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic braking systems and/or electro-mechanical braking systems, including controllers and stability functions.
  • Familiarity with vehicle dynamics on different surface conditions.
  • Ability to test vehicles at or near their physical limits.
  • Experience with vehicle-level and bench-level brake integration.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicles, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with FMVSS-related braking tests.
  • Willingness to frequently travel within the continental U.S., including CA, AZ, MI, OH, and MN.
  • Experience with brake performance tools and software such as CANalyzer, INCA, MDA, MATLAB/Simulink, and Racelogic VBOX.
  • Experience with ticket systems.
