Description

  • Design antennas for communications and sensing applications across VHF through Ka-band.
  • Build and characterize antenna, feed, and front-end prototypes.
  • Develop measurement systems that support antenna and RF design work.
  • Analyze wireless system performance, including antenna isolation, radiation patterns, and propagation effects.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, production, and integration teams to improve RF manufacturing, mechanical integration, and testability.
  • Provide antenna and RF radiation expertise for spacecraft systems, including plasma attenuation and shielding considerations.
  • Support communications architecture, analysis, verification, integration, test, and flight operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional or project experience in antenna design, build, test, and electromagnetic simulations.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering with research or thesis work on RF or antennas is preferred.
  • Experience with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and RF passive components.
  • Proficiency with RF fundamentals including impedance matching, antenna types, Smith chart analysis, power handling metrics, microwave network analysis, and RF filter design.
  • Experience with near-field or far-field chamber design and operation.
  • Familiarity with antenna measurement techniques and tools such as anechoic or reverberation chambers and near-field EM measurements.
  • Experience with schematic capture software such as Altium or OrCAD.
  • Experience with RF circuit simulation tools such as AWR, ADS, or Genesys.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, or Savant, including FEM, MoM, FDTD, and PO tradeoffs.
  • Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for data analysis or test equipment interfacing.
  • Basic CAD skills for prototype designs and direct collaboration with mechanical engineers.
  • Experience with reflectors or phased array antenna design is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.

  • Competitive base salary of $160,000 to $225,000 per year.
  • 10% pay differential for employees with an active clearance, up to an additional $20,000 annually once briefed into a classified program.
