Description

  • Develop an understanding of each customer’s business drivers and decision-making priorities.
  • Take ownership of evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
  • Build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers and prospects.
  • Capture requirements and translate customer business needs into innovative Appian-based solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for interoperability, functional testing, and performance validation.
  • Promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges with stakeholders.
  • Work with product and technical marketing to create supporting materials such as whitepapers and web presentations.
  • Stay current on the competition and ensure solution materials reflect differentiated positioning.
  • Partner with tech teams to own the technical win across applications, data, and GenAI opportunities.
  • Engage client executives to define outcomes and solution approaches for cloud-enabled digital transformation.
  • Lead technical content for proposals and RFPs, including solution design, estimates, and differentiators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in software development, especially with the Appian platform.
  • At least 2 years of experience in pre-sales or a similar sales engineering role.
  • Strong command of Appian architecture and the ability to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Recent experience with a modern programming language such as Java, C#, Python, C++, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Experience working in an enterprise software sales position.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including customer interaction, requirements analysis, and presentations.
  • Consultative solution-architecture experience in relevant domains with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand complex client challenges and translate business and technical concepts into clear value propositions.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to accommodate an 8:30am–5:30pm EST Monday–Friday schedule.
  • Infrequent travel to client sites may be required.
