Description

Build authentication experiences for customer and partner web applications, including login, permissions, and credential management.
Develop and maintain authentication, authorization, and identity-provider services.
Create and evolve shared libraries and SDKs.
Integrate with identity providers and maintain reliable access policies across products.
Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot identity services in production.
Modernize legacy authentication patterns as the platform evolves.
Own projects end to end, from requirements gathering through delivery and follow-up.
Collaborate with engineering teams on identity and access integrations.
Maintain code quality, write tests, and participate in code reviews.
Investigate incidents and bugs as part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

5+ years of experience writing code in strongly typed languages, including at least 1 year with Go.
Experience building web applications with React and TypeScript.
Experience with relational databases and a solid understanding of database fundamentals; PostgreSQL experience is used at Alpaca.
Previous startup experience and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Ability to own work from requirements through implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
At least 3 years of experience working on systems at scale.
Knowledge of JWT, OpenID Connect, SAML, or authentication systems preferred.
Experience with role-based access control and OpenAPI-driven HTTP APIs preferred.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Java, Kafka or Redpanda preferred.
Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Tempo, and PromQL preferred.
