Description

  • Define and own Alpaca’s market data strategy as both a platform capability and standalone product line.
  • Negotiate or support negotiations for exchange licensing, redistribution rights, and data entitlements.
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for data sourcing, collection, normalization, and value-added products.
  • Develop pricing and packaging for real-time, delayed, depth-of-book, historical, and derived data offerings.
  • Partner with sales to grow market data revenue and develop the commercial model.
  • Analyze competitors and position Alpaca’s bundled brokerage and market data offering.
  • Own the developer experience for market data APIs, including coverage, latency, reliability, and documentation.
  • Lead partner discovery and prioritize data capabilities for neobrokers, RIAs, hedge funds, and crypto exchanges.
  • Coordinate market data needs across internal teams such as trading, algorithmic routing, compliance, and clearing.

Requirements

  • Experience leading product strategy and delivery for data, financial technology, brokerage, or related products.
  • Understanding of market data licensing, exchange relationships, redistribution rights, and entitlements.
  • Experience developing pricing, packaging, and commercial models for data products.
  • Ability to assess build-versus-buy decisions for data infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of market data APIs and delivery methods such as REST, WebSocket, or SSE.
  • Understanding of market data providers, competitive positioning, and brokerage or trading workflows.
  • Experience conducting partner discovery and translating customer needs into product priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with vendors, exchanges, sales, engineering, compliance, and internal business teams.
