Description

Define and own Alpaca’s market data strategy across platform needs and standalone product offerings.
Decide what market data Alpaca sources, packages, prices, builds, or buys.
Ship market data APIs, feeds, and tooling used by partners and internal teams.
Negotiate or support negotiations on exchange licensing, redistribution rights, and entitlements.
Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for data infrastructure, normalization, and derived data products.
Build pricing and packaging models for real-time, delayed, depth-of-book, historical, and analytics offerings.
Work with sales to grow market data revenue and strengthen Alpaca’s commercial position.
Own the developer experience for market data APIs, including coverage, latency, reliability, and documentation.
Lead partner discovery to identify table-stakes and differentiating market data needs across customer segments.
Prioritize market data capabilities based on customer demand, commercial upside, and internal platform requirements.

Requirements

Experience defining product strategy and owning execution for a technical data product or platform.
Experience working with external vendors, exchanges, or commercial partners on licensing or entitlement-related topics.
Ability to evaluate build-versus-buy tradeoffs for data infrastructure and product delivery.
Experience shaping pricing, packaging, or monetization for B2B or API-based products.
Strong understanding of developer-facing APIs and product quality factors such as coverage, latency, reliability, and documentation.
Ability to work across sales, trading, compliance, clearing, and other internal stakeholders.
Experience assessing needs across financial services customers such as neobrokers, RIAs, hedge funds, or crypto exchanges (preferred).
Experience with market data, brokerage infrastructure, or capital markets products (preferred).
