Description

  • Design, develop, document, and deploy new or enhanced backend service features.
  • Participate in user story elaboration and estimation.
  • Build frequent small releases to support team momentum.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers in cross-functional feature teams.
  • Build, optimise, and operate continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Maintain operational responsibility for services owned by the team.

Requirements

  • UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance is required, or eligibility to apply with at least 5 years lived and worked in the UK.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or at least 5 years of equivalent developer experience.
  • Strong Java programming experience, including Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Kafka or a similar platform.
  • Experience with Scala and Spark.
  • Experience integrating with PostgreSQL, Redis, or S3.
  • Strong engineering practices, including continuous delivery, clean code, documentation, defensive programming, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Experience working in Agile development and/or DevOps teams.
  • Experience using GitHub or GitLab for source control.
  • Test Driven Development experience with appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with big data technologies.
  • Experience with public cloud services such as AWS.
