Description

  • Define and own Workday integration architecture standards, patterns, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead architectural decisions for complex, high-risk integration initiatives such as global rollouts, payroll runs, benefits enrollment, and system migrations.
  • Architect, design, build, and maintain inbound and outbound integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, Document Transforms, and RaaS endpoints.
  • Develop integrations using Workday Web Services, including WSDL interpretation, SOAP/REST handling, and version management.
  • Own high-volume integration scenarios for payroll, benefits, workforce changes, and multi-country rollouts.
  • Build and maintain advanced custom reports and calculated fields for integration consumption.
  • Manage integrations through Workday’s semi-annual release cycle, including impact assessment, sandbox testing, and production deployment.
  • Define and build Workday Extend applications and orchestrations for HR processes not supported natively.
  • Drive production reliability through monitoring, alerting, retry logic, idempotency, runbooks, and root-cause analysis.
  • Mentor engineers, document integration designs, and represent Talent Systems in architecture and vendor discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of industry experience in software development or systems integration.
  • 8+ years of hands-on Workday integration development across requirements, design, build, testing, go-live, and post-production support.
  • Direct, personally written experience with Workday Studio, including complex multi-step integrations, custom error handling, and XSLT transformations.
  • Experience with Workday Core Connectors, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Document Transforms, RaaS, and Workday Web Services.
  • Expert proficiency in XSLT, XML, and JSON, with Java knowledge sufficient for Workday Studio custom steps.
  • Deep knowledge of the Workday Business Process Framework and how events trigger integration flows.
  • Familiarity with Workday functional configuration across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Security, and Time & Absence.
  • Strong knowledge of data security and compliance practices, including PGP, SFTP, OAuth 2.0, SAML, WS-Security, and PII handling.
  • Experience managing integrations through Workday’s semi-annual release cycle, using Git-based version control and structured change management.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Workday Pro Certification in Integrations is highly valued.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Extend and Workday Orchestrate is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll interfaces such as PECI and PICOF is preferred.
  • Experience with middleware or iPaaS platforms is preferred.
  • Experience supporting global, multi-country production environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GDPR, India PDPB, or SOC 2 compliance requirements in HR data flows is preferred.
  • Experience integrating LLM-based tools, AI agents, or automation platforms with enterprise systems is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $180,000 to $225,000 USD.
  • Role may be eligible for bonus.

  • US-remote eligible position.
  • Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required, as agreed with your manager.
