Description

  • Analyze cloud spend, usage trends, anomalies, allocation accuracy, and optimization opportunities across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Identify, prioritize, implement, and validate savings initiatives such as rightsizing, resource cleanup, storage optimization, scheduling, and commitment planning.
  • Lead cost allocation, tagging governance, Kubernetes cost distribution, unit economics, showback, chargeback, dashboards, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage commitment portfolios, reserved capacity, savings plans, enterprise agreement analysis, renewal planning, and savings realization tracking.
  • Present technical and financial recommendations to engineering, finance, procurement, client leadership, and executive stakeholders.
  • Build SQL queries, data transformations, reporting models, and automation using Python or PowerShell.
  • Integrate billing sources, third-party tools, and reporting platforms into FinOps workflows and onboard new clients, accounts, subscriptions, and projects.
  • Coordinate delivery resources, execute approved remediation through change-control processes, and track contracted service hours.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to FinOps standards, playbooks, reusable assets, training, pre-sales, and practice development.
  • Participate in client advisory meetings, service reviews, on-call or escalation rotations, and occasional after-hours support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of combined experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure, or cloud cost management, including 3+ years in cloud financial management, cost optimization, or FinOps.
  • 3+ years in a customer-facing, consulting, stakeholder-facing, or service delivery role presenting recommendations to technical and business audiences.
  • Experience designing, deploying, or operating large-scale, multi-account, multi-subscription, or enterprise cloud environments.
  • Subject matter expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP; strong AWS or Azure experience preferred.
  • Working proficiency in SQL and Python or PowerShell for querying datasets, transformations, and automation.
  • Experience with cloud cost management, billing analysis, reporting platforms, and third-party tool integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud billing, allocation, forecasting, unit economics, commitments, containerized environments, and optimization methods.
  • Experience in managed services or consulting, multi-cloud FinOps, Kubernetes or AI/GPU cost management, and tools such as Harness CCM, Cloudability, CloudZero, Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass required background screening; role includes up to 10% domestic travel.
