Description

  • Lead development of new fraud prediction models using tabular, graph, and behavioral data.
  • Build and scale feature pipelines and training datasets from proprietary and third-party signals.
  • Prototype new modeling ideas and features, run offline experiments, and promote the best approaches into production with appropriate risk controls.
  • Productionize models by integrating them into batch and/or real-time decision systems.
  • Improve model reliability, latency, and operational robustness.
  • Instrument and monitor model and data health as fraud patterns evolve.
  • Define retraining and backtesting workflows to keep models effective over time.
  • Identify and implement foundational improvements to the team’s model-building process.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Fraud Analytics, Product, and ML Platform to define requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and communicate results.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience researching, training, tuning, and launching ML models at scale; a relevant PhD may count for up to 2 years of experience.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact machine learning models in a low-latency live setting.
  • Strong Python skills and experience writing production-quality code.
  • Experience building and evaluating tabular classification models, preferably with gradient-boosted decision trees such as LightGBM, XGBoost, or CatBoost.
  • Experience with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch.
  • Experience with distributed data processing or parallel compute frameworks, preferably Spark; Ray or Dask is also relevant.
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tooling for orchestration, experimentation, and model monitoring, such as Kubeflow, Airflow, or MLflow.
  • Proficiency with AI-powered developer tools such as Claude Code or Cursor to speed iteration, debugging, and code quality.
  • Ability to turn simple business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components and deliver clear, tested, extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging other engineers’ code, and giving code review feedback.
  • Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and a habit of seeking feedback proactively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
