Description

  • Design and ship production AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, routing, and specialized agents.
  • Automate manual operational workflows across onboarding, support, exception handling, and document or data understanding.
  • Build forecasting, prediction, matching, allocation, optimization, and reliability-scoring models that power product decisions.
  • Design the learning loop by instrumenting decisions and outcomes so models improve over time.
  • Own reliability and evaluation, including eval harnesses, tracing, observability, guardrails, and safe rollout processes.
  • Determine when to use models, agents, or rules based on the problem and business context.
  • Mentor engineers and help improve the team’s prototyping-to-production pipeline.
  • Work closely with founders, product, and engineering on high-impact AI initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping production AI/ML systems at scale, not just prototypes.
  • Strong practical experience with edge cases, quality, latency, cost, and reliability tradeoffs.
  • Deep expertise in at least one area and fluency across both generative or agentic AI and applied ML or decision intelligence.
  • Experience with multi-agent orchestration, tool or function calling, RAG, structured outputs, and modern AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or MCP.
  • Experience with AI model providers such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenAI.
  • Experience with forecasting, optimization, matching or allocation, ranking, or prediction models that influence operational decisions.
  • Ability to design and trust evaluations, including offline and online evaluation, business-linked metrics, shadow mode, and drift monitoring.
  • Strong hands-on programming skills in Python and modern API/services frameworks such as FastAPI.
  • Experience building systems for operationally complex or high-stakes environments where quality and reliability matter.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to lead technical work without heavy process.
  • Preferred experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, marketplaces, mobility, or fulfillment.
  • Preferred experience with operations research, reinforcement learning, or bandits for sequential decision-making.
  • Preferred experience with multimodal document understanding, computer-use, or browser automation.
  • Preferred experience with real-time or streaming systems, feature stores, and production MLOps at scale.
  • Preferred background includes patents, peer-reviewed publications, or experience as an early or founding engineer.
