Description

  • Work closely with the product team to translate design decisions into executable criteria.
  • Design and implement high-performance, low-latency calculation engine code.
  • Work on the core of a complex Java-based multi-dimensional calculation engine.
  • Ensure correctness and quality are prioritized alongside calculation performance.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for correctness-first engineering practices and a culture of quality.
  • Contribute to the dynamic compilation of model declarations into efficient runtime objects.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in backend software development.
  • Deep expertise in Core Java, including threading, memory allocation, garbage collection, and performance tuning.
  • Experience writing low-latency Java applications.
  • Strong domain knowledge in database engines, compiler design, or front-office investment banking.
  • Experience designing languages.
  • Understanding of how the JVM works.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code.
  • Prior experience building planning software is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Spring is preferred.
  • Knowledge of multi-dimensional modeling and/or Lambda Architecture is preferred.
