Description

  • Build and operationalize the Central Clinical Operations function, including teams, structures, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Lead the transition of study startup ownership to Clinical Operations and establish clear workflows and handoffs.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop Central Clinical Operations leaders and staff with defined goals and performance measures.
  • Supervise managers through coaching, one-on-ones, feedback, performance management, and career development.
  • Optimize coordination among project management, training, data management, central CRC, and study startup functions.
  • Partner with site managers and cross-functional departments to align central support with network and site needs.
  • Develop processes, tools, systems, and reporting that improve operational consistency and performance visibility.
  • Oversee network-wide study startup, site readiness, data management, training, data quality, database lock readiness, and audit readiness.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics and use operational feedback to drive corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Travel to network sites as needed to gather feedback and support implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of extensive onsite clinical research experience in a coordinator, site management, or equivalent clinical operations role.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing managers and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial operations, site workflows and SOPs, regulatory and GCP requirements, EDC/eSource systems, and data quality standards.
  • Experience coordinating multiple functions such as data management, training, and project management.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and design developing processes.
  • Availability to work standard East Coast business hours.
  • Willingness to travel to network sites as needed.
  • Preferred: neurology or psychiatry experience; multi-site network or distributed-team experience; study startup familiarity; CRO or sponsor operations experience; and experience with LMS, process improvement, or workflow systems.
