Description

  • Promote Acadia products to healthcare professionals in person and virtually, providing compliant clinical, disease state, and reimbursement information.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan to meet or exceed sales objectives using market data, customer insights, and quarterly action plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and objections using advanced selling and dialogue skills.
  • Tailor approved sales aids, clinical reprints, and brand resources to customer needs.
  • Partner with internal teams such as managed markets, operations, sales training, and marketing to deliver coordinated solutions.
  • Provide guidance on pricing, reimbursement, and specialty distribution, and serve as a liaison for access-related issues.
  • Track and report sales activity, business expenses, and customer interactions accurately and on time.
  • Represent the company at conferences, exhibits, trainings, and regional or national meetings.
  • Mentor new sales specialists and contribute to cross-functional projects and field insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences preferred.
  • 1+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience for the Sales Specialist level, with neuroscience preferred.
  • 5+ years of healthcare sales experience for the Senior Specialist level, including 2+ years in complex or account-based selling.
  • 12 years of healthcare sales experience for the Executive Specialist level, including 3+ years in complex or account-based selling.
  • Advanced selling skills, leadership ability, and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to influence diverse healthcare professional audiences across multiple care settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and deliver consistently high results.
  • Deep understanding of neuroscience disease states, Acadia products, and local or regional market dynamics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual engagement platforms such as Zoom and WebEx.
  • Strong knowledge of payer dynamics, including Part D and specialty pharmacy or hub distribution.
  • Must reside within the territory or within 30 miles of its border, and preferably near a major airport depending on territory needs.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and eligibility to drive a company vehicle.
  • Ability to meet significant travel requirements, including up to 80% travel, overnight stays, and occasional air travel.
  • Must comply with vaccination requirements for access to HCP offices, long-term care facilities, and medical conferences.
