Description

Build trust with clients and guide technical direction on ambiguous engagements.
Lead platform engineering strategy and delivery from vision to shipped work.
Advise on architecture, scalability, platform evolution, security, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Collaborate on systems spanning the full ML lifecycle, from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.
Design and manage high-level technical roadmaps for large engagements.
Coach client engineering teams and transfer knowledge to improve practices.
Facilitate retrospectives, strategy sessions, and technical deep-dives.
Partner with account teams on planning, opportunity identification, stakeholder relationships, and pre-sales scope shaping.
Mentor internally, lead workshops, support hiring, and represent 8th Light in the tech community.
Document outcomes, surface blockers, and drive action items forward.

Requirements

10+ years of experience with repeated success across a variety of projects.
Experience building and shipping production-grade platforms, tools, infrastructure, and workflows.
Experience taking AI and agentic systems from prototype to production.
Experience delivering consulting engagements across multiple stacks, ecosystems, and client industries.
Experience leading production software development using languages and frameworks such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Go, Ruby, Scala, R, and SQL.
Experience building or integrating AI/ML features such as recommendation engines, NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics, RAG pipelines, and agents.
Experience leading modernization and replatforming efforts for legacy systems.
Strong background in scalable system design, modular architecture, testing strategies, observability, fault tolerance, and secure engineering practices.
Experience in platform engineering, data engineering, DevSecOps/DevOps, MLOps, or infrastructure as code is strongly preferred.
Experience with tools and frameworks such as Databricks, LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or n8n is strongly preferred.
