Description

  • Facilitate communication with client project stakeholders on status and recommendations.
  • Lead migration of legacy JavaScript code to TypeScript.
  • Architect and develop new features for a React Native application.
  • Optimize the app for offline-first functionality using local databases and caching.
  • Work with Redux for state management and integrate with existing architecture.
  • Use Expo to streamline development workflows and manage app deployment.
  • Design and implement efficient GraphQL queries and mutations.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver a mobile experience.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Stay current with trends in React Native, TypeScript, Expo, and mobile development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of React Native experience, including functional components, hooks, advanced state management, memoization, and performance optimization.
  • Experience developing and optimizing React Native apps for iOS and Android in production.
  • Experience writing native iOS modules in Swift or Objective-C and Android modules in Kotlin or Java integrated with React Native.
  • 5+ years of TypeScript experience.
  • 3+ years working with the latest Expo and Expo DevClient; Expo Go is not required.
  • Experience with Expo SDK features such as notifications, Camera, and Updates.
  • Experience with Expo EAS, CI/CD workflows, GitHub Actions, Expo branches, and release channels.
  • Experience with Redux, Redux Thunk or Redux Saga, and RTK Toolkit.
  • Strong understanding of mobile app performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative teamwork skills.
  • English proficiency.
  • Preferred experience with local databases such as SQLite or Realm and offline-first strategies.
  • Preferred experience with GraphQL APIs such as Apollo Client or Relay.
