Description

  • Design scalable mobile architecture and influence technical decisions for the platform roadmap.
  • Build and maintain cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend teams to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
  • Own critical parts of the codebase and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Drive engineering best practices and support continuous improvement across the team.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers.
  • Explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Integrate and maintain REST API connections and related authentication and error-handling flows.
  • Support DevOps activities including CI/CD, app store deployments, Expo development, and Firebase integration.
  • Improve app quality through testing, debugging, profiling, and performance optimisation.

Requirements

  • Experience in mobile development with React Native and cross-platform app development.
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript, including advanced type patterns, generics, and type-safe development practices.
  • Deep knowledge of state management tools such as Redux Toolkit, Redux Saga, and Zustand.
  • Understanding of iOS and Android platform differences, native modules, and device compatibility.
  • Strong testing experience with Jest, React Native Testing Library, test-driven development, and high code coverage.
  • Proven debugging and performance optimisation experience using React Native profiling tools and Sentry.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs with Axios, including authentication, error handling, and data transformation.
  • DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, app store deployments, Expo development, and Firebase integration.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentorship skills.
  • Experience guiding junior developers and working across cross-functional teams.
