Description

  • Develop frameworks to migrate on-premise software and data assets to Snowflake and Azure.
  • Assist with migrating databases, stored procedures, analytic scripts, and applications to cloud platforms.
  • Maintain, improve, and develop software solutions and supporting infrastructure.
  • Establish engineering best practices for deployment and management of cloud and data assets.
  • Gather requirements, validate scope, and maintain project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user needs and deliver solutions.
  • Own projects from technical design through successful launch.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, work planning, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Track project status, estimates, deliverables, and personal work plans.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend appropriate technology adoption.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience with Python and SQL.
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, stored procedures, and relational databases.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, and AKS.
  • Experience with Git and Jenkins in DevOps or Agile environments.
  • Experience migrating data engineering assets and applications to cloud platforms.
  • Experience engineering medium-to-large software systems and building scalable frontend/backend applications.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, Scrum, and modern development methodologies.
  • Financial industry experience is required; Canadian Securities Course completion or CFA candidacy is an asset.
  • Strong information systems knowledge, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: C#, React, Flask, FastAPI, Django, Airflow/Astronomer, dbt, SSIS, Power BI, financial data providers, AI coding agents, or a quantitative degree.
