Description

  • Gather and clarify requirements for data migration and transformation.
  • Design, build, and maintain performant, resilient, and maintainable data pipelines.
  • Implement data architectures using appropriate tools and project standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and architecture teams on designs, requirements, and improvements.
  • Manage pipeline testing, version control, CI/CD, review, and production deployment.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and remediate data pipelines to maintain stability and effectiveness.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across upstream and downstream systems.
  • Document solutions, transfer knowledge, and contribute to data governance and management best practices.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain awareness of broader business and technical objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills, including query performance and parallelism.
  • At least 1 year of substantial experience with a traditional OLTP database such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres.
  • At least 1 year of substantial experience with an MPP data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, including basic storage and security concepts.
  • Experience with at least one data transformation tool, such as Fivetran, Informatica, DataStage, dbt, or native cloud/platform tools.
  • Basic understanding of Medallion data architectures.
  • Basic experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Git/source control, and CI/CD.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and an interest in consulting.
  • Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity.
  • Preferred: experience with data modeling, Python, event-driven systems, visualization tools, Snowflake or Databricks ELT, and testing methodologies.
