Description

  • Assess existing data components and identify architecture improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into data requests, reports, and dashboards.
  • Define and propose end-to-end data solutions for enterprise business problems.
  • Design secure, scalable data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop automated data pipelines, ETL processes, dashboards, and reports.
  • Work with business leaders, information management teams, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders on data initiatives.
  • Continuously review current-state systems for alignment with architecture goals, best practices, and business needs.
  • Create and maintain data flow diagrams, database models, and related documentation.
  • Support data governance, privacy, security, reliability, scalability, and performance in architecture decisions.
  • Mentor junior team members, lead initiatives, and provide thought leadership for the practice.

Requirements

  • Strong database and data modeling knowledge with exposure to SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience designing and writing ETL processes in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or Snowflake; experience with both is desirable.
  • Strong exposure to data architecture patterns and principles, including secure and scalable data lakes, data warehouses, and data hubs.
  • Understanding of Hadoop and related technologies such as PySpark, Spark, Storm, HDFS, and Hive.
  • Experience with cloud data engineering services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Lambda, DynamoDB, EMR, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena, QuickSight, RDS, Kinesis, Managed Kafka, or API Gateway.
  • Knowledge of Azure services such as ADF, Data Catalog, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, or Azure DevOps.
  • Exposure to data security and privacy regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data ingestion tools such as Fivetran, Stitch, or Matillion is desired.
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies is desired.
  • Experience with Linux and Master Data Management tools is desired.
