Description

  • Conduct customer discovery meetings to determine reporting requirements.
  • Advise customers on Power BI licensing options and the tradeoffs of each licensing model.
  • Create efficient star schema data models for Power BI, including calculated columns and measures.
  • Build Power BI solutions that combine data from multiple sources into reports and dashboards.
  • Develop data elements using DAX and source queries to support reporting needs.
  • Guide customers through deploying Power BI solutions to the Power BI service, including gateways, DirectQuery, DataFlows, and data refreshes.
  • Work with customers and technical stakeholders to translate business questions into reporting solutions.
  • Support the development, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines and workflows using Databricks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with data and business intelligence solutions on the Microsoft BI stack or other BI platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI data components, including Power Query/M, DAX, and dimensional modeling.
  • Working knowledge of TSQL, data modeling, and reporting with Power BI or other Microsoft tools.
  • Experience building complete Power BI report solutions with linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters.
  • Experience with Databricks to develop, implement, and optimize data pipelines and workflows.
  • Ability to understand Power BI licensing models and recommend the best option for customer needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply technology to business challenges.
  • Preferred experience with Power BI tenant and workspace management, Python or R visualizations, advanced SQL/query tuning, data quality, Power BI Report Server, Power BI Embedded, and Microsoft Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL DB.
