Description

  • Develop levels from initial paper designs through final shipment, incorporating feedback, creative direction, and deadlines.
  • Prototype, iterate, and polish moment-to-moment gameplay, combat, and mission experiences.
  • Own the vision and quality of assigned levels from concept through completion.
  • Collaborate with lead designers, creative leadership, artists, mission designers, writers, coders, and other disciplines.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback during level iteration.
  • Mentor junior level designers and share design expertise.
  • Maintain a positive work ethic and support project goals through delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building and shipping large level environments, supported by portfolio videos, screenshots, and design documentation.
  • Experience shipping a AAA title, preferably using Unreal Engine and involving first-person shooters.
  • Understanding of modern level design practices, including layout, pacing, technical implementation, and player experience.
  • Strong aesthetic judgment and ability to collaborate closely with art teams; prior art experience is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and self-motivation skills.
  • Experience shipping games with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
  • Experience with modern console certification and shipping processes.
  • Experience working on large interdisciplinary teams.
  • Co-op or online multiplayer development experience is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
