Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable distributed backend systems.
  • Own backend services end to end, including architecture, implementation, monitoring, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering peers to shape product decisions.
  • Work directly with clients to turn vague needs into concrete technical proposals and delivery plans.
  • Build and evolve Web3 backend components, including protocol integrations and smart contract interactions.
  • Ensure code quality, performance, security, and observability standards are met.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment while balancing speed and correctness.
  • Use AI as part of the day-to-day engineering workflow for designing, reviewing, debugging, and shipping.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and mentorship within the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and building distributed backend systems.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience actively contributing to product evolution, not just implementation.
  • Comfort working directly with customers to scope and propose solutions.
  • Daily hands-on use of AI in engineering work.
  • High standards for code quality, system reliability, and user experience.
  • Strong ownership mindset and proactive communication in a distributed team.
  • Pragmatic decision-making with the ability to move fast when appropriate and go deep when needed.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt.
  • Golang knowledge is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, and/or Cassandra.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Experience with Python 3.
  • Hands-on Web3 experience with blockchain systems, dApps, or smart contracts is a plus.
  • Located in time zones close to Europe is a plus.
