Description

  • Lead feature implementation from proposal and specification through development, maintenance, and execution.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, product managers, and engineers to identify process inefficiencies and define technical solutions.
  • Participate in product decision-making and contribute to the planning and prioritization of upcoming work.
  • Review pull requests and help maintain code quality through code reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and maintainability.
  • Improve the health of the codebase by helping reduce technical debt and guiding housekeeping efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership to the team and surface risks, challenges, and unknowns early in the development process.
  • Own projects end to end and help scale billing systems to support future growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience, including experience in a senior or technical leadership role.
  • Backend or full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend focus and willingness to work across the stack.
  • Experience with Go is preferred; experience with Python, Java, or Node.js is also relevant, with the ability to ramp up quickly in Go.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience developing solutions in the cloud or using cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and translate business challenges into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Proven experience leading technical projects from conception to deployment.
  • Experience with cloud billing for AWS, GCP, and Azure is a bonus.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery is a bonus.
